Why do elephants have big ears?

Is it something to do with noddy not having enough to pay the ransom?
Why do elephants have big ears?
There is an English book called Noddy...

and in it was a character called Big Ears who was a friend of Noddy.......

You would have to know this to understand the joke.
Reply:yes, it IS in fact because noddy wouldn't pay the ransom. Why do giraffes have such long necks?
Reply:1. They are used to cool their bodies off by simultaneously moving them back n forth.

2. They are able to catch the soundwaves of other herds of elephants as far as 5+ miles away. That's impressive communication. Talk about can you hear me now!
Reply:so they can have shade....lol
Reply:so they can be proportionate with their water hose nose
Reply:because they are big
Reply:to better hear you with. to fan themselves to keep flys and such off of them.
Reply:so they can hear when somebody opens the refrigerator door.

how can you tell if an elephant has been in your refrigerator?

their footprints show up in the pudding
Reply:Noddy, the British Storybook Character? Maybe, But I think Rudyard Kipling tells a better story about the elephant's ears.
Reply:waiting2inhale2 is true... it's a book!
Reply:i dunno, but it would look really funny if they were small.
Reply:So they can fly
Reply:cuz they hav big nose
Reply:so they can fly
Reply:the elephant needs them to be able to fly!!!
Reply:Because....

If they were given big wings, it'll be total menace!

Imagine elephants landing on people...

OUCH!

peace out....
Reply:So they can fly like Dumbo?
Reply:so they can hear better so they can get a head start before the lions come........
Reply:So they can slap the people that ride on them at the circus.
