Is it to late to plant perennial bulbs?
Yes! Plant all you want! Just make sure to keep them all in at LEAST dappled shade. The lilies can take a little more light, but once our summer sun comes out, they will turn crispy. Elephant ears also like to be kept very wet. Foxglove is another plant that loves shade and a bit of moisture.
Shasta daisies love our sun and heat, now is a great time to plant them, they are in all the gardening stores and in our climate will last until October - (if not December, knowing the weather...)
Reply:I suggest that you inquire at a local nursery.
Good luck.
Reply:These ones you listed actually should have been planted in the spring, but you'll be ok. If they don't look that great this year, don't worry, they'll look better next year. That's the case for your summer-fall blooming bulbs.
If you have ANY spring blooming bulbs, do NOT plant them now. Plant them between Halloween and Christmas.
